Pathways - Learn With Us

Whether you are a school student, mature age student, job seeker, or have years of experience and are seeking formal recognition of your skills, Queensland Agricultural Training Colleges (QATC) offers a variety of education pathways with a focus on practical, hands-on learning.

TASTE - Get a 'TASTE' of rural industries

The Agricultural Skills and Technology Experience (TASTE) is a program for year 10, 11 and 12 students held at Emerald Agricultural College and Longreach Pastoral College during certain school holidays. The four day program is designed to help young people explore the many career options available in rural industry. Experience horses, cattle, crops, machinery and more with like-minded students from around Australia.

CERTIFICATE - Skills through practical training

Certificate II qualifications, which can be incorporated into school-based traineeships, provide a foundation for entry-level agricultural careers. Students are supported during traineeships and apprenticeships - whether at work or school - with flexible, customisable training options to suit the needs of employers, schools and students.

Certificate III qualifications provide generalist skills development plus the opportunity to commence a path towards career specialisation. QATC offers programs allowing students to focus on specific areas of interest including horses, livestock and cropping.

DIPLOMA - Cultivate your agricultural career

Further skills development is realised through Diploma qualifications. Flexible options such as on-campus or self-paced online study help you to boost your career prospects. Experienced industry participants can also consider skills recognition (RPL) options available through QATC, potentially reducing or eliminating study time required to achieve a qualification.

BACHELOR - Open the door to exciting opportunities

A partnership with CQUniversity means you can graduate the Bachelor of Agriculture with two qualifications instead of one. Read more about the degree program.
