Ayr ag training hub relocates to town centre
Businesses and individuals looking for ag-related training, now have a one-stop shop located in the convenient town centre of Ayr.
“The Ayr Training Hub of Queensland Agricultural Training Colleges (QATC) has relocated from their Sunwater offices on Giddy Road, to a new office and storage facility on 93 Graham Street Ayr, giving improved access for customers and the organisation a more visible presence in the community,” advised Mr Roger Desailly QATC Manager, Education and Training (Statewide).
Mr Desailly said the new premise that better meets the organisation’s needs.
“The office is situated in the town centre of Ayr now, giving clients better access to our training hub,” explained Mr Desailly.
“From Ayr QATC collaborates with secondary schools to deliver vocational agricultural training in their curriculum, and short skills sets to industry. We are also successful in delivery funded programs throughout the region, such as the Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs in conjunction with various community groups,” Mr Desailly said.
“We have also developed a series of QATC certified programs of varied length to provide specialist skills and knowledge relevant to particular industries; for example farm safety, farm business management, livestock transport, seasonal workers, technology in ag, and more,” he said.
“The diversity of agricultural career options is reflected in the variety of course options available through QATC. There are options for school students, school leavers, mid-career changers, and others who are in the workforce but may not have formal recognition of the skills they have learned on the job,” said Mr Desailly.
