Helping Longreach students achieve rural career ambitions
QATC’s new Rural Reach partnership with Longreach State High School offers families the opportunity for their Year 10 - 12 students to complete their secondary school studies at Longreach State High School, while undertaking rural skills training at Longreach Pastoral College.
Longreach State High School is renowned for excellence in student outcomes in the senior years of education, being awarded the 2017 State Showcase Award for Excellence. As part of their senior students, students enrolled in the Rural Reach program complete the AHC21216 Certificate II in Rural Operations qualification at the Longreach Pastoral College, providing a solid foundation for entry-level agricultural careers, and pathways towards further study and career progression.
Rural Reach students are also able to board on campus at Longreach Pastoral College where they benefit from participating in a diverse range of pastoral care and extra-curricular activities such as participating at regional shows, social activities, and community programs and events.
