Walkamin Training Hub

Surrounded by the heritage listed areas of the Atherton Tableland, the Walkamin Training Hub is QATC's premier site for conservation and land management training. Qualified and experienced staff provide full time, part time and external training options in all facets of conservation and land management. Students may go on to gain employment as park rangers and tourist guides.

External students throughout Queensland form a significant cohort of those enrolled, studying at a time and place convenient to busy lifestyles. Traineeships, both full and part time, are also available, while secondary students are encouraged to take up school-based traineeships to meet the skill needs of a growing industry.

Staff at the Walkamin Training Hub work with local government, community groups and employers to tailor short courses to meet specific skilling needs. Courses in farm and land management skills such as welding, 4WD, fencing and chainsaws are held regularly to meet the needs of clients in the Tablelands and Cairns area.
