School-based Learning​​ 

Get job-ready sooner and lay the foundations for further study and career specialisation.

Combining a high school education with nationally recognised vocational qualifications, school-based learning is a great way for students to get a career head start while still at school.

School-Based Traineeships

Across the State, Queensland Agricultural Training Colleges offer a range of certificate-level school-based traineeship qualifications, including:

  • Agriculture
  • Production Horticulture
  • Rural Operations
  • Conservation and Land Management
  • Retail Butchery
  • Horticulture

Training is funded by the Queensland Government under the User Choice program, subject to student eligibility.

Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS)

QATC’s qualified instructors partner with State and Independent Secondary Schools to offer a range of vocational programs, ensuring that competency, assessment and processes are ASQA compliant.

VETiS programs include:

  • Agriculture
  • Production Horticulture
  • Rural Operations
  • Conservation and Land Management
  • Retail Butchery
  • Horticulture

Training is funded by the Queensland Government under the Certificate III Guarantee (Vocational Education and Training in Schools), subject to student eligibility.
